I'm feeling extreme gut pain and haven't eaten much. What could have happened?
I've had a series of strange episodes: I get a "vacuum" sensation in my gut that moves into my chest and then into my left shoulder. There, it begins burning and tingling and moves down my arm to the elbow area. It lasts about 30 to 45 seconds. After it subsides, I experience several minutes of uncontrollable swallowing and often a need to have a bowel movement. The episodes can be as much as a month apart. I've had my heart, brain, bowels, and stomach tested, and no one can figure it out. I cannot tie it to any lifestyle patterns. Do you have any idea what it is and what could be causing it?
